Step 1
Disconnect Battery
Begin by disconnecting the negative terminal on your battery. If your battery is in the boot, make sure you don't close the boot after disconnecting it or the boot will lock!
step 2
Release & Remove Airbag Unit
After leaving your battery disconnected for 10 minutes, use a tool to release the clips, on both sides, which hold the airbag unit to the wheel. The springs inside will release and you can pull the airbag out.
STEP 3
Disconnect Airbag & Control Module Connectors
Use a flat head screwdriver to disconnect both connector clips.
Step 4
Remove Centre Bolt
Use a large wrench to remove the centre bolt. Make sure you are turning it anti-clockwise!
YOU ARE NOW READY TO INSTALL YOUR NEW WHEEL!
Once your old wheel is removed, it is now time to reverse the steps which you just completed.
Step 5
Align & Fit New Wheel
Place your new SteerHaus wheel on the steering column ensuring that it is lined up perfectly.
Step 6
Insert Centre Bolt & Torque to Spec
Make sure the centre bolt is tight as this is what holds the wheel to the car. The bolt should be torqued to the manufacturer's specification.
Step 7
Reconnect Airbag & Control Module Connectors
Ensure both connectors are clipped in properly.
Step 8
Secure Airbag Unit in Place & Reconnect Battery
Press the airbag unit securely in place with the same motion you would use to beep your horn. Then, reconnect your battery.
